traff Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 hi all ...a big problem after a blown turbo ........oil seals gave out on turbo after catastrofic failier......result ....oil down the exhaust.....my question is ..has anybody here overcome this problem?could i flush it out with petrol or thinners?....i dont know whats in the front box ...it cant be a catalist..no sensors or wires.....this car ...auy engine runs well with new turbo....all inductoin pipes cleaned...even took intercooler off to clean it......grey smoke under power...nothing on tickover....any ideas...i cant be the only one who has had this happen? seatkid Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 Front box IS a catalytic converter. Grey smoke is possibly the oil burning in the cat. Should eventually clear. Quote

traff Posted April 17, 2013 Author Report Posted April 17, 2013 (edited) thanks for the reply chaps........i recon there could be up to a litre of oil gone down the pipe......ive taken the front pipe off ....to perg with a blow torch.........sure is a lot of smoke......
